WHAT DOES BECOMING A VOLUNTEER MEAN?
Becoming a volunteer means that new possibilities will be opened for you to show your skills and knowledge in form of presenting the own creativity and ideas in the spirit of good will. You will live a new and unique experience that will be useful for your future life. You will have the chance to communicate with people from different professions and ages. As a volunteer you will also represent our country as a good and hospitable host.
WHY SHOULD I BECOME A VOLUNTER?
Big projects do depend on volunteers, their enthusiasm, great motivation - the volunteers are always the key of success in every part of major events – from transport, logistics, communication, support and assistance during the competition at the stadium. Volunteers leave a major impact onto spectators and participants. If you have interest in gaining new experiences, register here.
HOW MANY VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED?
Some 400 volunteers will be necessary to be successful in the organization of such a comprehensive event , i.e. the IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup Split 2010.
WHO CAN APPLY AS VOLUNTEER?
Every person over the age of 15 years may apply to become a volunteer. Minors do need a statement of their parents allowing them to volunteer. Applicants must have basic knowledge of English and should also know the basic rules of athletics. We search for enthusiastic and motivated young people who are capable to improvise in order to make this project a success. Fluent English is required for some parts of the volunteers duties (Volunteers who are in contact with athletes, judges,...)
CAN I APPLY IF I AM NOT FROM CROATIA?
Everybody may apply, but a requirement is the knowledge of the Croatian language and fluent English is required for some parts of the volunteers duties.
WHERE CAN I REGISTER - APPLY?
Applications for volunteers were withdrawn due to the large number of applicants.
HOW LONG WILL I WORK AS A VOLUNTEER?
The duties of the volunteers will be for the majority of you on September 04th and 05th 2010 , during the competition. A smaller number of volunteers will be involved at an earlier time, a week or two prior to the event. All volunteers must attend a training course to be ready to perform their duties during the IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup Split 2010.
VOLUNTEER TRAINING
The volunteers must attend an complete the training course that lasts some 2-4 days. This includes the following duties: Accreditation, Competition, Hotels - Accommodations, IT/Telecommunications, Marketing, Medicine - Doping control, Protocol, Security, Transport service and Press.
DO VOLUNTEERS GET ANY RECOGNITION OF THEIR WORK?
All volunteers will get a diploma stating that they successfully volunteered during the IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup Split 2010. They will also receive a certificate of completing the volunteers training course. All volunteers will be issued an accreditation for the zone they are allocated to, free meals and city transportation, official uniforms and Adidas equipment. Our professionals will train and prepare you for your duties and actions in every possible situation and what´s most important you will meet a great number of people that are integral part of such competitions.
