The Director of the IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup,
Mr. Siniša Ergotić and the Manager for the Cup promotion,
Mrs. Ivana Vladović had a meeting on Wednesday with the
Croatian Minister of Tourism, Mr. Damir Bajs where they presented him the project and progress of organization works for the Cup. The various possibilities of touristic promotion of Croatia before and during the Cup were also discussed, since the Cup is definitely the biggest sports event this year in our country.
As reminder,
on September 04th and 05th, Split will host
more than 400 athletes from all over the world and if we also take into consideration
the team members, IAAF officials, sponsors and media representatives the number of guests will exceed one thousand during the days of the Cup.
The majority of guests and participants will stay at least four days in and around Split, some even longer than one week. Especially interesting is that the America team with 130 persons already arrives on August 28th to their training camp in Tučepi and Makarska.
The fact that
broadcasting rights for TV broadcasting have been sold to
over 80 countries speaks of the great attention the
IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup will have in the public. Accordingly this is a great opportunity to promote Croatian accommodation facilities, which will be the topic of the next meeting between the Cup representatives and Minister Damir Bajs in Zagreb.
