The Americas selection of athletes that will compete at the
IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup Split 2010 confirmed their arrival to the
training camp in Tučepi and Makarska,
on August 28th. Some
85 leading athletes and 27 members team official and medical stuff will train one week at foot of the impressive Biokovo mountain for the Cup that will be held in the
stadium Poljud in Split on
September 04th and 05th 2010. The athletes and the team will be accommodated in Hotel Alga and will use the stadium in Makarska for their trainings. The arrival of the Americas team, consisting of the best athletes from Northern, Central and Southern America for this seven days training is just another proof of the significance of this largest athletic outdoor event this year, where four continents will compete for the titles of the best in the individual disciplines. Of course, the Makarska Riviera, the city of Split and Croatia as a country will get a great international tourism promotion since the team will be accompanied by many foreign and domestic media representatives.
