The end of the football season, at least in Split, has marked the beginning of the works on the preparation of the athletic track in the Poljud stadium, where the best international athletes will compete on September 04th and 05th during the first IAAF/VTB Bank Continental Cup.

“GMT-sport interijeri” already arrived in Split and will start this work with grinding of the surface of the track that was originally laid exactly 20 years, for the European Championship in Athletics. The more complex works on the reconstruction of this track in the stadium “Poljud beauty” will continue from next Monday and will be completed until 24th June, maybe even a few days earlier.
Just as reminder, we already informed you that the furnishing of the office premises of the Organizing committee and IAAF representatives of the Continental Cup, located in the second floor of the same stadium, is under way. At the end of this great athletic competition the completely renovated and furnished premises will be used by the members of the youth camp of the Croatian Football Club “Hajduk”. All this is just another proof of the excellent cooperation between the organizers of the Continental Cup and the representatives both the football club and of the public institution “Sport venues (in Croatian Športski objekti)”, which company manages the stadium in Poljud.
