The fantastic
Sandra Perković set a new
Croatian record in discus throwing tonight in
Brussels, with
66.93 meter! The European Champion from Barcelona continued her series of great results, this throw was a winning one during the finals of the Diamond League Meeting in Brussels. The Cuban
Yarelis Barrios came in second with
65.96 and was the overall winner of this season of the Diamond League. The Chinese
Yangfeng Li was third with
64.74 m.
Perković set her new record with eight centimetres more than the one she threw in Split, in March this year (66.85), but she will soon have again the opportunity to
improve her personal best result and national record in Split during the upcoming Continental Cup.
Namely Sandra Perković will be competing at the
IAAF / VTB Bank Continental Cup on September 04th and 05th and her result in Brussels tonight is the best possible invitation to the Cup for all true fans of the athletics sport.
