The recently renovated stadium Poljud beauty presented itself on August 05th in best light. The inspection of the venue only verified that the perfect, new athletic track deserves the 1st class Certificate by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). For the upcoming global competition in athletics – the Continental Cup, employees of the company GMT sport i interijeri from Rijeka, under supervision by the German company Eberhard Behr GmbH, worked over two months on replacing the old athletics track with a new one, an investment of 2,5 million Kuna. With this very desired Certificate, the Poljud stadium is now the first one in southeast Europe with this certificate and entered the circle of the best stadiums in the world.
Despite the fact that many stadiums have an IAAF certificate, only the very best ones have the 1st class Certificate, which means full compliance with all requirements and conditions set forth by the IAAF. Since such a Certificate also means a major investment, only those athletics tracks on which the biggest international events are organized, can compete for a 1st class Certificate, which was easily accomplished by the Poljud beauty.
For the coming up Continental Cup, the Poljud stadium became an ideal sport’s venue, with an
eight million Kuna investment into the stadium and in particular the new athletics track. This biggest outdoor event will host
